The manor, built in the first half of the 18C by Nicolau Nasoni is a
triumph of Baroque architecture.

A
Capela Nova,
also known as “Igreja dos Clérigos”,
is attributed to Nicolau Nasoni. It is typically baroque, and in the
interior you will find azulejos (tiles) representing scenes from the life
of S. Peter and S. Paul. In the main chapel there is some Renaissance
gilt-work worth admiring, from the early XVII century. |

Sé-
An old convent church erected at the end of the Gothic era, nevertheless
the cathedral also has some Romanesque characteristics most notably the
craftsmanship of the capitals in the nave.

Every
Saturday, from May to October, you can enjoy a trip in an ancient train
line built in 1887. Nowadays the train goes from Régua to Tua,
using old carriages from the beginning of the 20th century. |

Serra
do Marão is a granite and schist block delimited to the east by the
Corgo, to the west by the Tâmega and to the south by the Douro. On the
road between Vila Real and Amarante, from the lower slopes, maize, pine
and chestnut trees begin to replace the vines, the orchards of apple trees
and the olive groves. |
Fragas
de Panóias- The most famous Rock Art Sanctuary from Roman times in the
Iberian Peninsula is located in Panóias. It is about two thousand years
old. This group of granite rocks constitutes a serapeum, a temple
dedicated to God Serapis, who was first worshiped in Egypt. |
